Bio
I work as curator, archivist, musician and writer and live in New York City.
For the most part I focus on special or traveling exhibitions, often as curator but also as a project coordinator, registrar and researcher. I began my curating career at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, where I worked on Ours to Fight For: American Jews in the Second World War, which was honored by the American Association of Museums as the best exhibit of the year in 2003. Since then I have created exhibitions with the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Museum of Chinese in the Americas, American History Workshop, St. Thomas University and the American Sephardi Federation.
I am also a state-certified archivist, and have expertise in archival planning, archival processing, records management and Encoded Archival Description. In a grant-funded position I created the archive for the Museo Judio de Sosua, Dominican Republic, and I have helped formulate the archive of the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Other archival clients include the New York Public Library and New-York Historical Society.
When not working on exhibitions and archives I also lecture, write and tutor. The web-based curriculum I developed on John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry is currently being used by the National Park Service and my writing has appeared in several Yeshiva University publications. I am also a songwriter, and front a New York City rock band called Studio E.
I am a graduate of The George Washington University and received my Masters in History and Advanced Certificate of Archival Management from New York University. Originally I am from White Plains, New York.
